RIVIERA F
Riviera F was formed by Russian born singer Alexa Marlen and Dutch guitarist Kairo sin after meeting at a London art college. Sharing a love of bubblegum pop, trashy glamour and impeccable style, they decided to start their own band.
They made their first recordings in Alexa’s tiny bedroom, using a Casio toy keyboard together with some shambolic drum loops. As their sound developed they threw some analogue synths and 909 beats together with Kairo’s angular punk guitars and Alexa’s icy cool detached vocals. Working with producers Logan sky and sirenBox, Riviera F’s sound shaped up into a combination of electro minimalism with a new-wave edge and a triumphant, uplifting pop feel.
RELEASES
Riviera F’s debut release was the brooding 5 track International Lover EP. The title track was produced by DuranDuran’s synth legend nick rhodes, and the EP was released on Rhodes’ and stephen duffy’s label Pop Cult/Tape Modern. now We’ve Got europe, Riviera F’s first US single was released on the Miami based label, Kinetic Media. Their debut album Another City Another Plan is out on Riviera F’s own label Germ Free records.

In true fairy tale style... Riviera F’s first ever gig was a Peel session on the legendary John Peel BBC Radio One show. After being ambushed by the band at Broadcasting House and given a rather rough demo in hand, the late (and much-missed) DJ phoned the band the very next day to say how much he loved their music, demanding the band to record a session.
Since then Riviera F have been playing live and touring all over the UK and Europe, with fresh London dates coming up in late 2010. Alexa and Kairo also organise their own club nights in London and dJ all over the capital. Past ventures include how to Pick Up Girls (a fabulous night of disco and Hi-NRG) and the glamorous Club Dollar. More recently their now We’ve Got europe club night only featured punk, new-wave electro and pop music by continental European artists.
Riviera F’s debut album Another City, Another Plan is out Sept 27th 2010 on their own label Germ Free.
